ASTET STUDIO COMPLETES DESIGN OF ALBARADA RESTAURANT AND VERMUTERIA AT METT BARCELONA
A design narrative rooted in Mediterranísmo and Noucentisme transforms two signature dining destinations in Barcelona's celebrated hillside hotel
Barcelona, Spain, September 2025 - Astet Studio proudly unveils its latest collaboration with Mett Hotels in Barcelona, designing both the Albarada Restaurant and the Vermuteria. Officially opening in mid-September, the remodel of the two spaces brings a refreshed sense of Mediterranean elegance to one of the city’s most iconic luxury hotels.
The interiors take inspiration from Mediterranísmo, an artistic interpretation of Noucentisme that celebrates the Mediterranean landscape and cultural heritage while embracing contemporary craftsmanship. The Vermuteria presents an elegant yet relaxed setting for aperitifs and Catalan cuisine, with muted earthy tones of olive green, ochre and red paired with natural materials such as oak, leather and stone. Ceramic tiling, inspired by the Cerdà Plan’s hydraulic tiles, links the design to Barcelona’s urban history, while the furniture’s simple lines and balanced proportions reflect the ideals of Noucentisme. The result is a timeless interior that feels sophisticated and welcoming, echoing the heritage and modern vibrancy of the city.
In Albarada, the atmosphere is warm and tranquil, with a colour palette of terracotta, golden yellow, olive green and earthy brown, evoking the tones of the region’s terrain and light. Lime-washed walls, textured plaster and soft natural fabrics create a tactile environment, complemented by bespoke wooden furniture with smooth, organic contours and stone surfaces that echo the rugged beauty of the Mediterranean coast. Ceramic details subtly reference Catalan artistry and the Easter festival of La Pascua Florida, known for its vibrant blooms and symbolism of renewal.
